Carniriv 2012 is on going

Carniriv, a time to showcase the culture and heritage of the rivers people is here again. The Festival has been on for 3days now, happening today (12.12.12) live at the tourist Beach in port Harcourt.

The carniriv brings together all the people of rivers state to the city of port Harcourt even the state Governor avail himself for this special occasion. To the Rivers people, whenever its time for Carniriv, its time for fun.

This years Edition of the Carniriv has been titled “Carniriv 2012 Port Harcourt 100^TH edition.

 The Carniriv festival has been ongoing for a very long time in rivers state and by each passing year it gets more fun. The Director General of the Rivers state Tourism Development Agency Dr. Sam Dede said they have kept everything in place for a smooth running of  the carnival. He also said they have made arrangements for both local and foreign artist that will be there to perform on different days of the carnival. I heard Shaggy is going to be live in port Harcourt this edition.

 This event has been occurring every second week of December since 2010 and it last for 8days.

The 2012 season kicked off with an opening ceremony on day 1,

2^nd day   -  Jairation night was held.

3^rd day  -   boat regatta  at the Tourist beach port Harcourt.

5^th day -  the street parade will take place.

6^th day  -   freestlye

7^th day Sunday, the grand Finale.
